Furmint / Šipon, Ilovci 2007

Sipon with a multitude of enclosures!

A wealth of new perceptions almost impossible to disentangle - the palate perceives a well-balanced fruit accompanied by deep structures.  An ample mellowness with a robust finesse can be discerned as its backbone.  Incidentally, the name Sipon goes back to Napoleon.  When crossing the Illyrian Hills of Slovenia on his campaigns he tasted the wine from the Furmint grape and pronounced it “si bon”.

The Furmint, then mainly called Mosel in Slovenia, received its new name from this event.
