The wine cellar

One of the most up-to-date wine cellars in Slovenia was opened in the 200–year–old building of the former castle farm of Jarenina Manor in June 2007. The exceptional union of traditional architecture and state–of–the–art wine production technologies are the key features of this building. Modern equipment enables us to produce sweet, characteristic wines as well as mature, ripened wines from our best locations.

The castle cellar

Following a tour of the modern wine cellar, we will take you down the castle chestnut avenue to the wine-tasting cellar at Jarenina Manor. Here you can get acquainted with all the riches of the Dveri–Pax wines under the mighty arches of the fully renovated wine cellar from the 14th century. Wines were already being produced in the castle cellar of Jarenina Manor by the Benedictines as early as 1139. The wine cellar is also the oldest part of the castle, for the part of the castle complex above ground has been expanded and renovated several times throughout its history.

On weekdays the wine shop and wine cellar are open from 8 am to 4 pm; from April to October they are also open on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am to 6 pm.  Large groups (over 10 people) can be accommodated upon prior arrangement.

The Iron Gate Castle

The vineyard manor house Iron Gate is located at a magnificent location on the Jeruzalem Wine Road (near Ljutomer). A mighty arch–shaped castle cellar which is really something special have been established in this building dating back to the 15th century. Under the several–centuries–old arches we will present our wines for groups booked over 20 participants, which you may also enjoy in the large castle courtyard featuring a wonderful view of the Jeruzalem Hills.
