The Dutch “Big Five” visit the Dveri-Pax vineyards

Together with their Dutch importer Jean Arnoud under the management of Mr. Jean-Marc van de Kant and as thanks for the good and successful collaboration over the past year,  at the end of June the Dveri-Pax Vineyard invited the five top sellers of Dveri-Pax wines to a four-day Dveri-Pax information tour.

For their success, Messrs

Peer van Iersel (Gastrovino Wijnkoperij Jean Arnaud in Tilburg),

Henny Hamburg (Gastrovino De Wijnhal in Hengelo),

Fons Hosman (Gastrovino Hosman Frères in Vlaardingen),

Gerard Wouterson (Gastrovino Mijn Hemel in Hilversum), and

Hein Post (Gastrovino Hein Post in Groningen and Haren)

were awaited for a viticultural and culinary (wine) tour through the Dveri-Pax estates.

In excellent weather on Sunday, the 27th of June, the group were met at Graz airport and driven to Maribor.  On Monday, with a short stop at Ptuj, they were taken on to Iron Gate Castle at Jeruzalem (Grad Zelezne Dveri).  There they inspected the breath-taking terraced vineyards, which have been given world-heritage status.  The day ended pleasantly with a visit to our legendary castle.  The cellars in Jarenina were chosen for Tuesday where in addition to the sensory typicalities of the Vajgen vineyards the guests were shown the imposingly steep vineyards themselves.  In the evening they were taken over the border to where the history of the vineyards began:  Admont Monastery in Upper Styria.   It was a pleasure for Dveri-Pax to present the region, its culture and the house’s philosophy to the Dutch guests, accompanied by regional culinary specialities.  On their departure the following day those taking part expressed their enjoyment of the past few days full of experiences and wine talk.
