An expert jury in London unanimously awarded the Dveri-Pax Furmint- Straw wine 2009 the “Regional Trophy” in the sweet wine category. As in the previous year we were again impressed by the official results of the international awards by Decanter World Wine in London.  As a result of the number of countries registered and the very great selection of wines 12,252 tastings were evaluated in only 4 days.

This year we received our first “Regional Trophy” for our Furmint- Straw wine 2009, together with eight further awards.  Our prize- winning Furmint convinced the jury with its incredible concentration and many facets, rich bouquet of dried fruits and lemon and orange blossom. According to the jury “the clincher was the sweetness, fruit and taste which were in close harmony with the well-balanced acidity.”

Further awards were Bronze Medals for Sipon (Furmint) 2010, Riesling 2010 and Traminer 2010, while Janez 2010, Yellow Muscatel 2010, Sauvignon 2010, Pinot Gris 2010 and Riesling »M« 2009 were “Commended”.

This repeated commendation is witness to the excellent achievements and teamwork in both vineyard and cellar.  We enjoy our work and take pleasure in it and are delighted as a result to make further progress - and all friends and connoisseurs of our wines with us, too,  Visit our vineyards and taste our wines for yourselves!
